PW Outing

An outing filled with lots of bliss and laughter always give me a hard time to settle down and start work, even after 18 hours have passed. So this post is supposed to help me get over with it and start REVISION!!!

The itinerary starts with the MInt Museum in the morning, followed by lunch and singapore flyer in the evening. Did u realise? There is 5 hours of blank on the list. But things always sort out in the end so we just headed along.

Hafizah was the earliest. She reached Cityhall mrt at 9.11 am. Yong bang was next, 9.20am. And obviously I was the last, 9.38am which was 8 mins late. Yong bang didn't have his breakfast, as usual the two of us had to find an outlet for him to buy something and eat along the way. Dun ask why he didn't search it himself. First, he has no sense of urgency( to me). Second, he is always walking behind the girls.

MINT stands for Moment of Imagination and Nostagia with Toys. The museum is the world's first purpose-built museum for toys(as according to the pamphlet)which showcases an extensive collection of vintage toys, the unique collection collection originates from over 25 countries, such as Germany, Japan, UK, USA and even Bulgaria .

To be honest, the sofa there attracts me more than any toys.

The only toys that caught my attention was..

Popeye and his friends

Yong bang engrossed in his sketching

After visiting the four levels, we took a rest on the large long cushy sofa, deciding where to go next. Yong bang wanted to go home(obviously not allowed). Hafizah craved for history museum and singapore flyer. I wish we could eat something. The "argument" lasted for about 30 mins or more than that until I suggested to use Tommy's brilliant method which was drawing lots.

There I wrote 6 options on a Post-it(newly bought).

1. Lunch at bras basah)
2. Lunch at the cafe beside Mint museum
3. History Museum
4. ACM
5. S'pore flyer
6. Arcade to play air hockey(since they have an unfinished deal)

Guess which option did Hafizah's lucky hand chose. A place I never want to step in.

Lunch was settled at Long John Silvers in Marina Square. Yes, we walked all the way there! Hafizah upsized her meal before I went to the counter. Then I stupidly asked for whatever she had ordered and paid extra $1.35. The meal was not satifying. Worse still I had never liked Long John(but Hafizah likes it sob sob).

While searching for the place Hafizah's luckly hand had chosen, we spotted the bowling alley. And they happily pulled me in. At the counter Hafizah revealed her puppy eyes again, "Can we play one game? Please..it's onyl three bucks. Lijing...."
I should have taken a photo of that.

Guess which feet belongs to me

They both have at least played several times but it's my first time playing. Yongbang managed to hit down 9 pins almost every try but Hafizah's bowl was always slanted, not to memtion mine =.=

Hitting 8 pins at one go(my highest record) for an amateur, I suppose that is worth praising? Haha. If my hand dun slant when it swings I would have performed much better.

Yongbang scored somewhere near 90 ponits. Hafizah scored 52 points. Mine was a mere 38 (sob)

Next destination-arcade

There wasn't air hockey in that arcade so they played this.

He still left 3 "lifes" after she "died"

We waited for 10 mins b4 his game ends. They then played this "push each other game". If I wasn't insistant enough, I would have baan pushed to play it. I never had so much fun watching people compete on their strength. Luckily I wasn't in the game though. If he uses the smae amount of strengh to push my handle, thousands of skin cells would be dead by then.

If you think the trip is over then you are totally wrong!! That's only three fifth of what we had done ytd.

While walking to Singapore Flyer, there were two voices encircled me. One said, "Dun go, you are wasting time and $$" while the other cried,"NO, you have to go, it'll be so fun up there!" Whenever he looked at me and shook his head, I feel so tempted to return home.

We each lay out the conditions.
Mine: If yongbang is not going to the flyer, I won't be going to the class bbq this friday.
Yongbang: If he goes to the flyer, we have to play pool with him.
Hafizah: Yong bang has to pay for the pool.

Deal set

At the counter, we were asked if we are students. Hafizah's answer gave me a shock. Guess how she responded. " Yes, we are children" I faint, too embarrassed to look at the person's face.

I'm curious why we all bent down. silly of me, isn't it

The Popeyes seduced Hafizah soul and she hurried there immediately after we alighted the capsule. Since previously at the counter, she asks why I remembered yongbang's hp no. and not hers, I had to spend 10 secs remembering her no. as well. Actually I didn't 'memorise' his no. on purpose. It's all because he always dun reply our msg so I have to call him to settle the pw stuff.

It was the pool that makes me feel so retarded and useless. I always miss the target or hit the wrong one or worse still, didn't hit any balls at all unless yongbang lends his helping hand. But there was one shot I rmb specifically. The targeted ball was hit and travelled all the way one metre to the hole. Wow! I never know I could aim that well or hit that far. Never did I expect the white ball would bounce back and land in the hole on the other side of the table! And Hafizah cheered coz she got a free ball.

The games ends at 6.35pm. I was exhausted but they seemed so energetic, one hopping her way out and the other looked as if the game haven't started.

As promised, yong bang paid for the game and I have to join the class bbq at east coast. I wished I'm the one paying then I dun have to go bbq, but Hafizah will scream at me. Haiz, gonna find someone to take me there now.

Dear pepper,

More than 2 weeks have passed since I last gave a proper post. As usual, I have more than a thousands things to say but am always hindered by where I should start. Before the pre-u seminar, during pre-u seminar and after the closing ceremony has left such a deep a deep impression that even my dreams 'played' the process over and over again(exaggeration).

Scene 1:

My role as an usher-smile, greet, lead the way hallmark a significant step forward in my stamina after 2 hours of standing in the carpark (facing the sun with great generosity) to welcome the distinguished guests, followed by 2 hours of standing under the yellow ceiling which mark the entrance of science faculty to lead those participants to their respective LTs. If they had followed the schedule strictly, I suppose my legs would have suffered 30 mins less.

Not forgetting the 'memorable' closing ceremony where the ushers in the multi-purpose hall had out a walkway for our dear guest of honour. Hmmm..why memorable?
Imagine while u are standing like statue with hands at the back(of course the head can turn)and trying hard to keep the warm welcoming smile, those people knuckle, elbow and even push you aside from the position you are told to safeguard. You can't blame them , coz they are too engaged in taking photos to realise the inconvenience they have caused. Then I had to keep stretching out my hand and smiled "please keep clear of the walkway. Thank you!" when the rage within me was almost uncontrollable.

Scene 2:

The end of ceremony marked the start of tea reception, the only thing I thought I would enjoy. Surprisingly, the food did not satisfy me. There was no rice. The chicken wings were almost tasteless, wanton with no meat, over-fried roti prata, bland drinks, heavy plates and cups, no tables for us (only guests have). Overall comment: The food was unsatisfactory.

Scene 3:

Finally I spotted my pw leader. He stood there, eating and chatting with his friends. I wanted to scare him. But while tiptoped my way there he suddenly turned and looked into my direction. Oh oh, he spotted me. Then I quickly turned around and went to my friends. Though it's obvious that my behavivour was suspicious, I doubt he knew my intention.

Scene 4:

He suddenly appeared in front of me when I filled up my cup of drink. "Hi" he said. Stupidly I turned and laughed. That was really weird and dump of me, isn't it. Haiz

Scene5:

The past one week was a slacking week. I found no motivation to move on at all. I can't study, can't even take up a pen to write something. I'm sick and tired of watching drama and animes, sick of doing editing the whole chunk for pw, sick of searching for more info, sick of looking at the info.

I should constantly recall how my ex-boss's daughters study. 7 days a week in their dad's centre. Tuition for every subject and of course grade A for all. How nice.

Now I feel motivated.

To stars
